target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">vRealize Log Insight Cloud<\/a> is a very powerful tool that is using <strong>machine learning to group similar<\/strong> events together and give a true visibility from on-premises and Cloud SDDC deployment as well as all the native public clouds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Forwarding Logs from vRealize Log Insight Cloud to a different repository (on-premises log analytics tools\/SIEM) is a common question from customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this blog post, I am going to show you how to forward logs to a <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/en-us\/azure\/sentinel\/overview\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Microsoft Azure Sentinel <\/a>instance in the Coud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-prerequisites\">Prerequisites<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to send any type of logs to Azure Sentinel from&nbsp;vRLIC, a few prerequisites need to be met.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:22%\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:66.66%\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\" id=\"block-ea91450a-3e36-4c0c-8c15-4528887097f0\"><li>A subscription to Microsoft Azure<\/li><li>An <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/en-us\/azure\/azure-monitor\/logs\/quick-create-workspace?tabs=azure-portal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Azure Log Analytics workspace<\/a> in the Azure portal<\/li><li>Enabling Microsoft Sentinel if it is not already activated<\/li><\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Creating an Azure Log Analytics workspace for Sentinel<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The creation can be done directly or if you don&#8217;t have one you will have to create one during the Sentinel service activation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To create the Log Analytics href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/en-us\/azure\/azure-resource-manager\/management\/manage-resource-groups-portal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Azure Resource Group<\/a>, and the href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/en-us\/azure\/sentinel\/overview\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Microsoft Sentinel<\/a> button to create my instance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"208\" height=\"264\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Configuring Log Forwarding in Log Insight<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are the procedure to follow to configure the  Microsoft Sentinel Log Forwarding Endpoint via the VRLIC UI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Collect the Worskpace ID and Primary Key<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The first step in preparing to configure&nbsp;Log Forwarding&nbsp;is to retrieve the&nbsp;<strong>Workspace ID<\/strong>&nbsp;and either the&nbsp;<strong>Primary key<\/strong>&nbsp;or the&nbsp;<strong>Secondary key<\/strong>&nbsp;from the&nbsp;<em>Log Analytics workspace<\/em>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These keys can be found by navigating in the Azure portal to Log Analytics workspace &gt; Settings &gt; Agents management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure is an ID that helps determine which instance of Sentinel logs should be forwarded to. Access this value on your instance of Sentinel, selecting Agents management.<\/li><li><strong>SharedKey<\/strong>:&nbsp;This is a key that is used to generate the necessary authorization to forward logs. Close this modal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under the&nbsp;<strong>Tables<\/strong>&nbsp;tab, expand the&nbsp;<strong>Custom Logs<\/strong>&nbsp;heading to reveal the list of table names which should correspond to the value assigned during the Log Forwarding setup.
