(Part 1 &#8211; Deploying vCDR)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vmware.com\/products\/cloud-disaster-recovery.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">VMware Cloud Disaster Recovery<\/a> is currently the solution that has the most interest from my customers and partners. I can see that only the SDDC that is in a different AZ from my SCFS can be used. The DRaaS Connector is a VM that has to be deployed on a Compute segment in the SDDC. I decided to choose Automatic and pick the default segment of my SDDC. Refer to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.vmware.com\/en\/VMware-Cloud-Disaster-Recovery\/services\/vmware-cloud-disaster-recovery\/GUID-CE092BCA-0150-447F-94ED-129095665361.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Documentation<\/a><a href=\"%5Cpages%5Ccreatepage.action?spaceKey=VMCRA&amp;title=VCDR+Intro&amp;linkCreation=true&amp;fromPageId=883815223\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u00a0<\/a>for the VM CPU and network requirements<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This process is quite straight forward. Also copy (or write down) the Orchestrator <strong>Fully Qualified Domain Name<\/strong> (FQDN), which you need when you configure the connector in the VM console<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A few things you need to know:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:20%\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:66.66%\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\" id=\"block-14cedbab-0b20-4b92-84f5-0c53e0b297db\"><li>Do&nbsp;not name the DRaaS&nbsp;Connector VM using the same naming conventions you use to name VMs in your vSphere environment. <\/li><li>Avoid giving the DRaaS&nbsp;Connector VM a name that might match the VM name pattern you use when you define protection groups.<\/li><li>If you are deploying the DRaaS Connector to a VMware Cloud SDDC with more than one cluster, you must choose a cluster to deploy the connector VM on. Each cluster in your SDDC must have the connector VM deployed on it in order for the VMs running on the cluster to be added to protection groups and replicated to a cloud backup site.<\/li><li>Do not use non-ASCII characters for the connector name label.<\/li><\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>After downloading the OVA by using the URL, I have uploaded the OVA to a <strong>Content Library<\/strong> in my SDDC. And started the deployment of the OVA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"255\"
